Is dyeing hair forbidden in Islam?

Is dyeing hair forbidden in Islam?

Is dyeing hair haram?
Learn about the answer to the question: Is dyeing hair forbidden? All scholars and sheikhs have permitted dyeing hair, but this permissibility is governed by several conditions, the most important of which is that the substance used in dyeing does not prevent water from reaching the hair, and the dye must not be black.

The scholars answered this question that it is permissible to dye gray hairs, as it is possible to dye gray hairs with red, yellow, brown and the like from other colors, but it is not necessary to dye hair dark black, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: “Change gray hair and avoid black.”
It is also permissible for a woman or a man to dye her hair using henna, and the color can be mixed between black and red. It is also permissible for an engaged or single girl to dye her hair for the purpose of adornment and good appearance, or for those who suffer from white hair.

⦁ Anas bin Malik, may God be pleased with him, also refused and said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, came and there were no more combs among his companions except Abu Bakr, so he wrapped it with henna and katam.
